I would like to thank all of my students, their parents, and people I have had the privilege to work with over the years.  You have made my life enjoyable and oh so interesting ;)  Teachers are supposed to inspire change in our students, but I have found  that they were the ones to have inspired me!

I just wanted to thank you for being an inspiration to me through high school.  I am now in college studying Sociology and Psychology.  Although I did not choose the science route in college, I can still tell you the silly little things you would say to help us remember things.  You were one of my favorite teachers I've ever had.  A.S. 2013
Since it is teacher appreciation week I just wanted to drop you a little note. __ has loved having you for a teacher! Thanks for supporting him and being so kind.  We appreciate all you do for __ and all your other students, you do a fabulous job!"  2012
"Ok so I have to tell you that I've been accepted to Iowa State University for the Fall 2013 majoring in Animal Science/ Pre-Vet!! :)" 2012
"Mrs. Manternach is a kind, intelligent, and helpful person.  I am really thankful she is one of my teachers.  She is my most favorite teacher." 2012
"I picked Mrs. Manternach because she taught me a lot about science, and she is really fun the way she teaches us." 2012
"I like how Mrs. Manternach gives us students the chance to, if we got some of our questions wrong, get half the points back.  She makes me want to come to class everyday." 2012
"Hey Ms. Manternach could you possibly re-teach me how to balance chemical equations? I know last year I understood it but now the way my chemistry teacher is attempting to teach it to us I'm honestly clueless!" 2012
My students are now becoming teachers:  " I am majoring in elementary education and I want to get a teaching endorsement in science.  Having you as my Biology and Marine Biology teacher really inspired me to get my endorsement in science. You are a wonderful teacher who showed me that science can be fun and exciting, this is why I would really like to observe in your classroom for part of my coursework." 2012

"First of all I want to say thank you for being such a great teacher.  My daughter had you two years in high school.  She would always come home so excited about what she learned in your class.  She loved you as a teacher.  She is finishing her second year in college and is going to be a teacher.  She is getting her endorsement in science.  I know because of how great of a teacher you are she fell in love with science.  We need more great teachers like you that make such a difference in our children's lives.  Thank you for loving kids and encouraging them to be all that they can.  Because of you, you changed my daughter.  Thank you."
