  Expedition DETAILS:

Student Opportunities:
 This expedition will provide the amazing and unique opportunity to assist scientists in the study of the natural flora and fauna of the coral reef and cloud forest ecosystems at the Monteverde Research Institute in Costa Rica. Students will study the Cloud Forest Ecology, Costa Rican Watersheds, Coastal Biology, Turtle Conservation, and cultural sensitivity. Expedition Dates and Make Up School Work:
 The expedition departs on March 17th and returns March 27. The times are yet to be determined. The trip duration is 11 days, but because there is no school on March 18th and 19th and an early dismissal on March 23rd the students will only miss 5.5 school days. All students will be expected to make up all class work the missed while on the trip and make arrangements with their teachers before departure.

Expedition Cost and Payments:
 The expedition cost is $2000. A $500 deposit is preferred by 11/4/10. Subsequent payments of $500 will be due on or near the first of December, January, and February with the total cost of $2000 completed by the first of March.The trip cost includes transportation, 3 meals per day, and all activities, but requires and DOES NOT include the cost of a passport.

Attendance
 The expedition is organized and will be participating with Dan Duclos and his Marine Biology class st Senior High School. There are 4 boys, 9 girls, 2 teachers, and 3 parent chaperons participating attending. Six of the students and 1 Teacher will be from Hempstead.
